ABOUT THE LISTENING PROJECT

The Listening Project are a vibrant group of musicians demystifying the conventions of contemporary classical music.

Through the performance of thoughtfully curated set lists we encourage deep listening of music penned by living composers, in the hope of cultivating a classical music more reflective of today's society.

Our gigs present ‘art music’ in fun and creative ways which are simultaneously relaxed and serious, oftentimes asking you to come to places that are wacky/experimental/bold before returning to more familiar realms.

Think of it like getting a mixtape from a friend, the most exciting part is the thrill of trying something new and perhaps discovering something about yourself in the process.
