The Listening Project presents... Rise Above It

The Listening Project appears at the Avalon Cafe for the very first time. They will be playing music by true innovator of 20th century experimental music Julius Eastman, with support from HENDRA. 

The Listening Project is a group that explores music penned by composers that reflect the diverse and changing creative landscape we live in today. In doing so, they seek to demystify the often archaic and sometimes academic conventions of contemporary classical music. They aren’t perturbed by appearing in a variety of spaces and are currently artists-in-residence at The Old Church in Stoke Newington.
